Last Thursday evening House Beautiful Magazine, the UK’s second largest home interest publication, hosted it’s annual awards at the British Film Institute at Southbank in London. Guests at the 2009 event included Jeff Banks, John Rocha, Oliver Heath and of course Tommy from BBC1’s Groundforce.
Alan Titchmarch won top award for Home / Lifestyle TV Celebrity beating Kevin McCloud into second place with Kirstie Allsopp and Sarah Benny also nominated.
John Lewis stole the show taking home 7 awards for various products and ranges but we’re delighted to report that STORE won the coveted gold award for Best Garden Product Range with our Bee Storage Solution beating the likes of John Lewis with their JLKI Kettle BBQs and STORE’s good friends at Bosch with their Ciso.
STORE MD Simon Glanville collected the gorgeous glass gong in person in the famous NFT1 auditorium which has played host to some of the world’s leading film-makers and actors, including Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, Jane Fonda and Charlize Theron to name but a few. Simon was also lucky enough to spend several minutes talking to members of the celebrity judging panel during the night about our fabulous range of home storage solutions.
STORE’s fabulous elfa freestanding wardrobe interiors and elfa decor dressing room shelving solutions also narrowly missed out on winning the award for Best Bedroom Product which was scooped by Hulsta with the Hulsta Mioletto wardrobe range who won the gold award with Manhattan Closets picking up the silver award with their White Closet sliding wardrobe. Sliderobes and their range of sliding wardrobes picked-up an award from House Beautiful associate publisher for Best UK Advertisement in 2009 making it a great awards show for the UK’s wardrobe and wardrobe interiors retailers.
Disappointingly, STORE’s set of chalk board storage boxes which were shortlisted for the award ‘Best Storage Product’ missed out on a second trophy when deserving favourites BoConcept won with their Occa 675 coffee table which features an array of clever storage shelves and cubbies within.
STORE’s Retail Operations Manager Lindsey Wilson commented;
“We’re over the moon to have won the converted gold award for best garden products at the House Beautiful 2009 awards which is a real honour for a small independent retailer like STORE. We’re constantly striving to offer the UK the best, biggest and most innovative selection of storage solutions for their homes and gardens and this prestigious award is a great recognition of our efforts.”
