The Holding Company.

Founded in 1995, The Holding Company opened its first store at nos. 241 - 245 on the stylish King's Road in London. The brand was the dream of London-based American declutterer and author of 'How to de-Junk Your Life' and 'De-Junk Your Mind', Dawna Walter, who is probably best known in UK as the presenter of the BBC TV show Life Laundry.

In the days before online shopping, the mail order catalogue was a familiar sight on kitchen tables across the country with its stylish and well-made collection of hand-picked storage solutions and organisational products. As word spread, shops in Bath and Manchester were opened alongside a mail-order distribution centre and HQ at the Finchley Industrial Centre, just off High Road. In the early 2000s, another King's Road store was opened in Chelsea close to Sloane Square, alongside an e-com business, www.TheHoldingCompany.co.uk and in 2011, a concession in Selfridges next to Muji
